HARD-LINE’s new application for the miniature miner technology, a prototype for which was completed in 2008, the RC Titan was sent to Ventura County, California this month.

HARD-LINE’s fleet of semi autonomous vehicles are compact and lightweight, and have been built to facilitate such things as narrow vein mining, machine retrieval, video surveillance, and operation in hazardous locations. Ventura County requested modifications so that these machines could be sent into channels underneath highways in that municipality. These channels prevent flooding in the area by directing water to the ocean, and throughout the year, they become clogged with debris. In order to prevent these channels from being blocked, Ventura County requested small machines that could be remote operated and sent in to clear out these channels, since they are too small for man operated machines. HARD-LINE modified the original design for this application, improved on the initial prototype, and dispatched the machines to Ventura County, just an hour and a half outside Los Angeles, where HARD-LINE representatives completed a demonstration for a large group of personnel and trained the operators working on the channel clearing project. |
