The Electronics Designer will collaborate with a variety of colleagues across project teams from engineering and product development to implementation and manufacturing. The Electronics Designer will have expertise in one of the following areas:
• PCB Design and Layout

What you’ll do

  • Define, design, and implement electronic circuits through the development and testing of components
  • Perform schematic and PCB layouts for custom solutions
  • Detail designs documentation, including bills of materials, assembly instructions, and testing procedures
  • Devise testing methods and properties to confirm the functionality of electrical components and systems
  • Collaborate with hydraulic, mechanical, and software developers
  • Troubleshoot to solve unforeseen problems with product design or implementation
  • Train and supervise technicians to assist in project completion
  • Review industry publications to maintain a current perspective on the electrical engineering field
  • Supervise the manufacturing and implementation of electronic components, and systems
  • Research and test manufacturing and assembly processes; develop innovative processes to improve or modify current methods

What we’re looking for


  • College Diploma, Electronic Engineering Technologist
  • 5+ years of work experience in new product development
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset

  • Possess advanced communication skills both technically and non-technically (verbally and in writing)

  • Proficient in the use of computers
  • Proficient in the use of Office tools (ie Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Proficient in the use of PCB design and layout software
  • Familiar with the use of AutoCAD or other computer-aided design software applications Working knowledge of CAN Bus, Serial, USB, Ethernet, I2C, and SPI protocols and design parameters
  • Working knowledge of embedded microprocessor design
  • Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions
  • Ability to work in a collaborative development environment
  • Multitasking and shifting priorities
  • Adaptability
  • Decision making skills and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Experience in PID control loops would be considered and asset
  • Experience in robotics or automation would be considered an asset
  • Experience working with functional safety systems and standards would be considered an asset
  • Experience working with programming would be considered an asset
