The Webmaster is responsible for managing Hard-Line’s public facing websites, ensuring accessible & user-friendly visitor experiences and site reliability regarding up time, performance and security. Using Hard-Line’s existing technologies and the IT/ERP department to assist in the expansion the company’s digital presence through the design and implementation of new web-based solutions that will positively impact our site visitors’ experience. Recurring work activities include server management & maintenance, security compliance, content management, and misc. supporting tasks.
What you’ll do
•Contribute expertise during discussions in ways to achieve marketing goals.
•Collaborate with business and technology teams to meet needs and targets.
•Monitor websites regularly and perform all necessary updates and maintenance changes while minimizingdowntime. This includes repairing broken links, patching known issues, and tracking new issues.
•Track, analyze and report web visitors & all related web traffic, activity and trends.
•Optimize websites and webpage content to drive more traffic including misc. SEO activities.
•Optimize email campaigns to attract additional customer opportunities
•Administer servers from a variety of deployment sources such as on-premises, virtualized or cloud based. Mayincludes regular backup and/or failover activities
•Collaborate in company projects and contribute to project management activities such as requirement gathering,task definitions and planning, development work, testing and integration
•Ensure compliance of accessibility standards
•Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
What we’re looking for
•Education certification in computer field, bachelor’s degree in computer science would be considered an asset
•2 years’ experience in the web development areas
•Experience in development and administration of content management systems (e.g. WordPress)
•Knowledge of design principles
•Knowledge of programming concepts, software development cycles, and associated tools and platforms
•Evidence of continuing education or aptitude for continuous learning
•Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset
•Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, including effective abstraction of technical jargon orconcepts for non-tech savvy stakeholders
•Strong troubleshooting and investigation skills
•Solid time management, decision making and problem-solving skills
•Highly organized and excellent attention to detail
•Creative and innovative thinking
•Accountable, dependable and results-oriented
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
• Working in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions.
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
• General office setting
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Internship Eligibility Criteria: Successful candidates must:
• Be unemployed or underemployed youth (persons aged 30 and under);
• Have graduated within the last three years with a degree, diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution;
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
• Have not previously participated in a youth internship with FedNor’s Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) or in any other federal or provincial internship program with pay for a period of six months or more;
